Curry Brand Versa Mesh Short  | Fall 2021

For Fall 2021, I had the opportunity to create a lifestyle short for Curry Brand inspired by vintage basketball shorts. Our apparel team was given three skus to enable us to create print stories connected to Steph Curry via all-over sublimations.

Curry Brand Versa Mesh Short (Cherry Blossom Print)
All-over sublimated open hole mesh fabric. Solid poly braid tape at side seam and bottom hem.
Stretch rib waistband with internal drawcord. Zipper hand pockets. Mesh lined.

The cherry blossom print is in honor of Steph’s commitment to Howard University Golf, bringing back the golf program after 5 decades. The cherry blossoms in the print of the short are an indirect connection to the cherry blossom trees on Howard’s campus.

Curry Brand Versa Mesh short (Net Print)
The all-over net print in the short is to celebrate Steph’s nickname as one of the “Splash Brothers” and his ability to splash the net with his 3-point shot.  Steph wore the short during a Curry x Sesame Street collab photo shoot.

Curry Brand Versa Mesh short (Butterfly Print)
The all-over butterfly motif was inspired by Steph’s daughter Ryan and the motif was also shared with Curry Brand golf styles.
The Currys (Steph and Ayesha) have monikers for all of their children.  Steph explained that “Ryan is called the butterfly because
of her free spirit and her energy for life.”

Curry Brand Versa Mesh Cads
Cads I created for design reviews and technical artwork.
